About Vladimir Mitin
Clinic was headed by general director MITIN Vladimir Nikiphorovich. He died suddenly on April 28, 2008.
PhD of Veterinary, professor of Russian Academy of Medical Science, in 1982 he was graduated from Fachtierartzt Advanced Training Faculty of the University of Leipzig, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
He was characterized by active pedagogical activity: prepares post-graduate students and competitors, presents lectures, seminars and master-classes in postgraduate education school.
He made a number of important scientific researches recognized by world specialists on the following topics:
- “Development of osteosarcoma treatment methods in small pets”
- “Neuron-capture therapy skin melanoma in animals”
- Tranfusion of allogenic bone marrow”
- “Reimplantation of irradiated osteal fragments”
- “Renal insufficiency”
- “Hepatopathy”
- “Heart disease in animals”
One of the basic results of his scientific activity was the experimental development of new methods of osteosarcoma treatment in animals. A number of his experimental and theoretical publications were related to this question.
He was the author of the following books:
“DOG DISEASES” for veterinary specialists and
“PRE-MEDICAL HELP FOR SMALL PETS” for animal owners
He was a member of international organizations:
- World Small Animals Veterinary Association
- British Small Animal Veterinary Association
- Deutsche Veterinärmedizinische Gesellschaft e.V.
- Society of plastic, reconstructive and esthetic surgeons (Russia)
He took part in annual organized Congresses and presented his reports on the following ones:
1993 – veterinary Congress in Germany, the title of report was «Chemotherapeutische und chirurgische Belandlung des Osteosarcoms beim Hund eine neue Strategie in der Behandlungstakik».
1996 – The second research osteosarcoma conference in Bolonia (Italy), the titles of reports were «Extracorporeal irradiation and replantation of bones in the treatment of dogs with osteosarcoma» and «Characteristics of metastasizing and recurrence of osteogenic sarcoma in Ilizarov compression-distraction osteosynthesis”.
1997 – 7th annual Congress ESVIM in Lion (France), the title of report was «Extracorporeal irradiation and replantation of bones in the treatment of dogs with osteosarcoma».
1997 – he was invited to Switzerland for the course “Substantial preparation “Endoprosthesis replacement of hip joints” where he received specialization.
1998 – Oncologic Congress in Norway, the title of report was «Prevention of lungs metastasis by allogenic bone marrow transfusion in spontaneouse canine osteosarcoma».
1999 – DVG Congress, the title of report was «Treatment of dogs with osteosarcoma: 20 years experience of extracorporeal irradiation and replantation of bones».
2000 – WSAVA/FECAVA VOORJAARSDAGEN Congress, certificate of continuing education, the Netherlands
2002 – veterinary Congress in Magdeburg (Germany), the report’s title was «Modern Konzeptionen der Osteosacombehandlung».
He was granted by awards and encouragements for success in scientific and public activity. His achievements and authority in veterinary science were recognized by scientific community and confirmed by numerous diplomas and certificates as the following ones:
Diploma “Golden scalpel N1” 1997 in category “For scientific contribution in veterinary medicine of small pets”
Diploma “Golden scalpel” 2000 in category “For popularization of veterinary knowledge”.
In 2001 V.N.Mitin has been qualified by diploma “For successful participation in the Second international congress on plastic, reconstructive and esthetic surgery” in Moscow.
He was the editor-in-chief of “Russian Veterinary Magazine”, co-founder of Institute of Comparative Oncology Development and Institute of Veterinary Intensive care, anesthesiology and critical care medicine development.
